Anyone who has or does milk with a Surge bucket knows they hold about 32 pounds of milk. Anyone who has or does milk with a Surge bucket knows they are very heavy--an empty bucket weighs about 22.5 pounds.
When I added my seventh doe earlier this month, my morning totals were hovering around 22 to 23 pounds. The milk and the bucket were stressing my physical limitations. There would be no way the single bucket would hold the milk from all ten does.
I had planned on taking two Surge buckets down for each milking, but I found this nice 2.5 gallon milk tote at Hamby's. Now I milk 5 does and pour their milk into the tote, then I milk the next five. It makes it so much easier to handle the milk and I don't need to clean a second bucket.
Works great for carrying milk says scratch and dent sale I have not seen a scratch or dent on it lid fits good and tight great investment
Fantastic product. Easy to milk into and pour out of. It seals well even without a rubber gasket, which I was concerned about, but it holds better than the pail I have that has a rubber gasket. I’ll definitely be doing this one again.
I love these I own 3 . Great price and have worked well with no issues for manymany years !
I ordered the scratch and dent 2.5 milk can and I was surprised how nice they were when I received them. I had to look very closely to find the blemishes
Works well, came fast, good price
These were great for being scratch and dent! The damage doesn't impede their functionality really at all!
Was from scratch and dent sale, had one small dent and some scratches. Totally happy with the product! Was desperate to have something to carry the milk in, it's perfect and the dent is barely noticeable.
I chose this as a cost-saving measure but wasn't really sure what I would get. I'm pleased to say this is a great option. The scratch-and-dent feature is limited to one small dent at the bottom (that I didn't even notice initially and actually wondered if I hadn't been sent a regular item by mistake). It's a really good size for our needs, sturdy but not too heavy. The lid holds well, but isn't so tight it's difficult to pull out. The base is wide enough to keep this from tipping over if transporting in a vehicle over a bumpy yard or pasture. At first, the handle seemed a little long, but I realized it creates a balancing effect that makes sense when carrying that way. I'm grateful this option is available for those of us just getting started with a dairy cow and trying to stay in budget.
